The national headquarters is excited to announce the launch of its coverage for our 2012 National Convention. This will include major announcements in each of our publications, as well as an online presence. The hope is that each brother is able to stay informed and involved leading up to next summer's event.
The Convention's new website will be the primary method of communication to the brotherhood regarding all Convention updates and announcements. All current information on the Convention is available on the site, and more will be posted in the coming weeks and months.
In conjunction with the website launch, the Fraternity is pleased to announce a Facebook page dedicated exclusively to the 2012 Convention, and its first ever official presence on Twitter. These media will be specifically for the purpose of informing and interacting with the brotherhood leading up to and during the 2012 Convention. It is our hope that this will allow more Sinfonians than ever to take part in the national discussions created by Conventions. "It's our goal," says Director of Communications, Mark Wilson, Delta Eta (Youngstown State) ’03, "to give every Sinfonian an outlet to stay updated on all that's happening within the Fraternity, especially as it pertains to Convention. We're going to have a lot of information in the coming weeks and months, and posting all of it to the traditional website and Facebook page would overload those pages with information."
It's also an opportunity for brothers to become involved. "Social media, and particularly Twitter," says Wilson, "are fueled by community feedback and interaction. We're going to have pictures, videos, and updates posted to all of these outlets during the Convention. This will help brothers in attendance at Convention to have a fuller experience, and also allow brothers not in attendance to "take part" from a distance by sharing in the excitement and discussion. We want to be responding to questions, gathering feedback, and promoting interaction, all in the hope of offering a richer experience than ever before in 2012."
